A collection of memories, experiences, historical facts, stories, mysteries and legends are the listed attributes of this book. Included is a collection of photographs that provides a window into a place in time where the pulse of the town beat with the number of trains arriving and departing. This book contains an amended manuscript with additional facts and information not contained in the previously published book by this author titled More than a Train Yard and a Whistle Stop: The Canadian Pacific’s Brownville Division, 1886 to 1963. This publication provides added descriptions of the buildings, utilities, infrastructure, equipment and rolling stock that were the physical attributes of the Canadian Pacific Railroad (CPR) and the village of Brownville Junction. Also included are descriptions of the human side of the railroad story consisting of highly skilled and experienced managers, tradesmen, laborers, and contractors that were employed to keep the CPR running on time. This book identifies, locates and describes in detail the technical requirements that existed for the existence of the CPR, including its operations and maintenance facilities within Brownville Junction. The contents and facts listed in the book are based on engineering documents having an origin of 1927 along with period photographs of CPR employees, structures, buildings and equipment dating to 1886. Facts are based on the memory of the author and his family and friends who lived in Brownville Junction and were all employed by the CPR for most of their working lives. Short stories containing details of how events may have occurred are added to bring life to this historical novel. Read more
